Updating and Saving your C.V or Resume
UPDATING AND SAVING YOUR C.V OR RESUME

Updating your C.V or Resume

Making sure your C.V or resume is current and up to date is very important, that’s why you should review and update this document regularly. It is recommended that you do this at least once a year. Although there are other times when it’s important to update it too such as:
- After significant achievements (personal/ academic/ career)
- After significant career changes (change of role/ change of responsibilities within your role etc)
- Upon achieving career milestones
- Whenever job hunting
- Whenever you gain more experience; this could be in the form of training courses, certifications, stepping up to perform stand in duties, or helping out in other noteworthy ways – whether these are (personal/ academic/ or career related)
Saving your C.V or Resume

Once you’re done, it’s recommended you save your document as a PDF. Thats because the formatting is usually more consistent, and there is no chance of the information on it being edited in ways that you’ve not agreed to once it has been sent
It is also important to ensure that when saving your document, you give it a file name that’s easy both for yourself and others to remember. Your full name and the type of document, e.g. C.V/ resume, is one of the simplest and most commonly recommended options
