This has also been written out step by step below in the script form

**Presentation Notes**
This example has tried to strike a balance can be hard because in many roles people don’t do things that are remarkable. Most roles are about maintaining consistency and having a reliable performance

Make copies of performance reviews when in your role – always abide by your company policy

It’s quite rare that employers will ask to see additional documents like past performance reviews

Even if you don’t have a job presentation as part of your interview, reviewing our example below can still be very useful when making interview preparations as it can give you a direction to take

Approximate time to recite:

‘With over 8 years of both actual and transferrable experience in the industry, I’m able to produce a consistently high calibre work that will not only help your organisation save both time and money, but will also enable it to streamline its processes and work in a more efficient way’.

‘One of the most important things you should know about me is that I excel in setting effective goals for myself. That’s why, if I’m given this role, one of the first things I intend to do is set a target for myself for having fully familiarized with this role within 60 days’.

‘As one of your team, you’ll find I’m able to fit neatly into this role quickly and can work with minimal supervision because of the organised and methodical approach I take to my work. This has not only ensured I’ve been able to adapt seamlessly to any changes within the workplace throughout my career, but has also enabled me to provide a consistently reliable standard of work that my employer has always been happy with’.

**I’ll add value to this role by bringing my can-do attitude and a highly team-work orientated ethic into your organisation**

Statement shows on slide 2 until the comment below is read

  • ‘My career accomplishments are numerous and include both official recognitions and personal achievements. To give you an example, among the most notable of these is not only the fact that I’ve been constantly praised over my career for achieving workplace targets, but is also the fact that I’ve received various recognitions for my participation within the workplace over the course of my career. These include both formal recognitions from my employer, as well as informal recognitions and thank you’s from my colleagues for helping to organize events within the workplace, and going the extra mile to support colleagues at times when they’ve needed my help the most’.

**I’ll add value to your team because I’m dependable and results focused**

Statement shows on slide 2 while the comment below is read

  • ‘I put my employer at the heart of everything I do, that’s what makes me so customer-focused and driven to succeed. I’ve constantly received positive feedback from my manager on both my monthly and annual performance reviews, not just for helping my fellow colleagues, but for also putting in a tremendous effort that helped my department achieve a 5-star rating on customer satisfaction surveys last year, as well as working with my team to deliver an increase in sales of 9% by embracing a more diverse product range and aggressively and cross-selling over the last 2 years’.

**I’ll add value to your organisation because I’m highly ambitious**

Statement shows on slide 2 while the comment below is read

  • ‘I regularly meet my sales quotas, being both comfortable and happy to embrace this aspect of my role with tenacity and enthusiasm. This is an approach that has always worked well for me, and last September I was really proud to receive an accolade from my employer for best salesperson of the quarter, which on a personal level was a really satisfying achievement’.

**I’ll keep adding value to your organisation because I’m driven to succeed**

Statement shows on slide 2 while the comment below is read

  • ‘I understand the importance of continuous improvement, and as such, have constantly sought out new knowledge and training in roles whenever I can. In my last job I was upskilled several times on the systems we used, and because of my enthusiasm and my can-do approach, I was selected as part of an elite team to be upskilled even further in a pilot group, enabling us to process sales more quickly for our customers while still meeting our regulatory requirements, and this was such a success that eventually it was rolled out across the whole of our organisation.

Having reviewed the job description in detail, I believe your company needs a self-starter who takes a proactive approach to their work, and that is something I am 100% certain I can bring to this role’.

Next, I’d like to give you an insight into my background and personality, and tell you why I believe these are a great fit for your company

SLIDE 3

Page 3 – Slide Three (Getting to know me – My background and personality)

Approximate time to recite:

‘I started my career at the xxx Company’.

‘There I performed a variety of different duties and functions, many of which helped to mould me into the professional I am today. These included:

  • Managing client accounts
  • Arranging call-backs and building bespoke one-on-one relationships with my customers
  • Performing customer service duties as part of a sales and aftercare service’.

‘I was regarded as a valuable and reliable member of our organisation by my employer and my dedication to the role not only allowed me both to enjoy my work, but also enabled me to build meaningful relationships with both my colleagues and customers alike. As a new hire coming into your team, I would strive for nothing less and I feel like the focus I put on relationship building and teamwork would make that very easy indeed’.

‘I then moved onto company xxx where I still work currently’.

‘Working tirelessly in my capacity as a sales consultant (your role here), over the years I’ve used my role to help bolster their position as a market leader. I’ve also been able to apply very some important skills that I feel have helped me develop as a professional such as my keen analytical and reasoning ability, my problem-solving talents, and my strong creative thinking. By using these skills effectively, I’ve been able to make an impact and help my company achieve some great results. These include, but are by no means limited to the following:

  • As a conscientious employee I’ve played a part in the success that has helped my company increase operating profits by 20 million since joining them
  • As an employee whose goes diligently about their duties I’ve played a part in the success that has helped my employer to pay shareholder dividends of over 7 million since joining them
  • By aggressively pursuing each and every sales lead for my company, I’ve been regularly able to meet all my sales quotas in my time at the company
  • By putting teamwork and relationship building at the core of everything I do, I’ve been to build effective relationships with my co-workers and in some quarters achieve customer satisfaction scores over 30% above the department average’.

‘As a new hire in this role, I would strive to make myself an indispensable part of your team’.

‘I have a bachelor’s degree in business management from Columbia University, and not only do I feel my expertise and qualifications make me highly qualified for this role, but it’s a role I feel I could excel in, and as a profession I’ve dedicated my life to, it’s one I’ll get an immense amount of job satisfaction from, which is why I think it would be such a great fit for me’.

‘To give you more of an understanding about the kind of person I am, I’d now like to take a quick look at my hobbies and interests’.

‘I’m a very conscientious person, that’s why several years ago I decided to make a difference and help out with environmental issues in my community. I joined a local environment group and we meet up once or twice a month. Getting involved in the community like this fills me with a tremendous sense of purpose that’s very fulfilling. I find it’s just really great to have a bond with a like-minded group of people who share the same interests as me. I can liken it to a similar kind of feeling I get when I’m in the workplace, where I’m surrounded by my team, and we all share the same common purpose and goal. Not only am I able to give back to those around me, but I also feel like I’m making a difference, and this is a philosophy I feel am I able to take into the workplace with me. On top of this, I find it’s also a great way to pick up new and interesting ideas, facts, and information, which is also fantastic because I’ve even found myself using it on occasion in the conversations I have with my customers at work’.

‘I also like to go cross country running. The outdoors is such a great feeling for me, and when I go out running it not only feels so liberating and free, but it’s also a great way for me to stay in shape’.

‘These are both hobbies of mine that help me unwind and make me feel good about the world around me, and the great thing about them is that because of the relaxation and fulfilment they provide, because of them I feel like I’m a more productive employee when I’m in the workplace’.

SLIDE 4

Page 4 – Slide Four (Why I’ve wanted to work for you for many, many years)

Approximate time to recite:

‘Next, I’d like to explain to you a little about why I applied for this role and why I’ve wanted to work for your company for many years now’.

‘To do this I first need to tell you about a decision I made not long after leaving home. You see, I’ve always had a gift for customer service and sales, and having chosen to educate myself further in this field by studying for a degree in business management, I feel it was more than just a decision I made, it was a commitment I took to this profession. That’s why, having made such a commitment, I resolved many years ago to take my career in sales consultation (your role here) as far as it could possibly go’.

‘I’m really grateful for the opportunity I got with xxx company, and I’ll never forget the memorable time I’ve had working both for them and my current employer, but now I feel that it’s time to progress my career even further still, which is why I’d resolved for some now to look for a new challenge. I want to develop better relationships with my customers and achieve even bigger sales quotas, and I applied for this role I believe your company can empower me to do these things and in doing so provide me with exactly the kind of challenge I’m looking for’.

‘I’ve been interested in your company for quite some now. It was many years ago when I first came across your company many years ago in job fair. Given the area you specialise in, I saw then that your company is a natural fit for my skill set and expertise, and although I was brought on board with a different company, I’ve had a keen interest in your company ever since. Like myself, you’re never content to stand still and continually want to improve and grow. I share this same philosophy, and in my capacity as a professional I value the importance that continuous improvement has not only in my day-to-day role, but in the larger context of the importance it plays in building a successful career. Your company has a history of success and innovation. As a leader in the field, you’ve established your brand by introducing new products and services ahead of your competitors, and as a professional whose dedicated their life to this profession, it’s not only exciting to see, but something I believe it’s worth being a part of, and it would be the realization of a career-long ambition if I got the opportunity to help you build on this success. For me, it’s not just the innovative products and services you’ve introduced over the years, but also the fact that you put the customer at the heart of everything you do. It’s this customer-led approach that I believe is your biggest strength, and its why I take great interest whenever I see a headline or an excerpt on social media with your company’s name on it. It’s also why, when the opportunity came along for this role, as you can imagine, I was absolutely delighted and put myself forward straightaway’.

‘Before I go on to the last part of this presentation, I’d just quickly like to say that I’ve applied for this role because I’m looking for a new challenge in the profession I’ve dedicated my life to, with job an employer I can be proud to work for, and I would love for that employer to be you…’

‘Before I go on to the last part of this presentation, I’d just quickly like to say that I’ve applied for this role because I’m looking for a new challenge in the profession I’ve dedicated my life to, with job an employer I can be proud to work for, and I would love for that employer to be you…’

‘Now I’m going to move on to the final part of my presentation, which is to tell you exactly why I feel I’d be the ideal candidate for this role’.

SLIDE 5

Page 5 – Slide Five (Three reasons why I’d be the ideal candidate for this role)

Approximate time to recite:

‘I’d be your ideal candidate not simply because I’m loyal, or because I’m a quick learner, which can be evidenced from many of my past performance reviews, or even because I believe I’d be a great fit for this role. I’m your ideal candidate because I’m committed to building my career with you should I get the chance, I believe in your brand, and more than anything else – I’m excited for this opportunity and ready to repay it with results should I get the chance’.

‘Everything that I can bring to your organisation and that I’ve covered about myself in this presentation can be summarized in what I call my 3 r’s…’

  • Results Focused
  • Relationship Building
  • Resourcefulness

‘Results Focused – Everything I do will focus on the results I’ll attain for your business if you give me this opportunity. I understand the value of success. That’s why by taking a methodical approach, and by focusing on the solutions to challenges rather than the problems, it’s how I will deliver results for your business’.

‘Relationship Building – Using my expertise and people skills I will make a great ambassador for your brand, obtaining loyalier customers who’ll spend more, complain less, and provide your company with a more reliable income stream. An example of how I would do this would be by arranging call-backs on aftercare sales. This is one of the duties required in this role, and it’s very similar to one of the duties I performed in my previous job. I was always very proactive and enthusiastic whenever arranging these as I believe it is an important part of the customer experience. This is how I was able to achieve metrics that were consistently above the departmental average not only on customer satisfaction ratings, but on cross-selling from after sales contacts too, and that’s why, if I’m offered this role, you can be sure I will bring this same devotion to each one of your customers and apply the same tenuous sales approach to each sale I make’.

‘Resourcefulness – By working resourcefully I will save your business time and money, helping you serve more customers and increase profits in the process. I’ll do this by bringing a strong efficient work ethic, and a can-do attitude into your organisation, and can easily share evidence of how I’ve previously approach through my past performance reviews which I am happy to provide upon request’.

‘Let’s get excited about the sales and service we can deliver to our customers so we can give them the best experience possible, and in the process create loyalier, happier customers, who believe in our brand and are happy to spend more money with us’,

And this concludes my presentation – Thank you very much for listening

If you have any questions, I’ll be happy to take them at this time
