An increasing number of people nowadays speak more than one language

This can be very useful in today’s cultural and economic landscape, and with globalization an ever omnipresent factor, the ability to speak a second or multiple languages can sometimes be highly relevant on a C.V or resume – this is especially true where an organisation has a large customer base (as today these tend to almost always be ethically pluralistic), or where it collaborates with organisations from different countries

There are many different languages spoken on earth today, and many, many different ways you can depict them in a languages section. While an organisation will normally only require a specific language or languages in question, if the knowledge of another language is a skill you possess, it can certainly be worthwhile adding a language section onto your C.V or resume. Don’t worry if you’re not 100% fluent, listing a language there can still make all the difference when it comes to being selected to progress onto the next round of the candidate selection process (especially if it’s relevant to the role in question), and you can indicate your proficiency levels if you wish – which is seen in the example shown here

Adding a language section is most useful if you work in areas like Government, Trade or International Relations, Translation and Interpretation, Travel and Hospitality, Teaching or Tutoring, Non-profit or the NGO sector, Academia, Some customer service roles, International or Multinational Organizational roles, or other important and export roles, to name only but a few…
