HELP INTO WORK
U.K, U.S, and rest of the world
Help into work initiatives can be a massive advantage to someone looking to get back into the workplace. Most of these initiatives are run through the government, and in the U.S you’ll normally only become eligible to participate in one after a certain amount of time being unemployed, or if you meet other types of eligibility criteria, although luckily this isn’t always true 100% of the time

U.S. Only
Help into work initiatives in the U.S tend to be harder to find, with the more prominent ones centered around a few distinct organisations only. Most assistance schemes in the U.S are not help into work schemes as such, but rather are based around training to enhance employability, education to increase qualifications, or government assistance that focuses on providing limited unemployment benefits, (referred to as unemployment insurance). In order to qualify for such assistance however, you will typically need to have been in employment for a certain length of time beforehand, as well as be able to meet other types of eligibility criteria. Although there is other assistance also available, mainly through the use of grants and vocational training aid, this again is limited and varies from state to state. With that said though, there is still assistance out there, so it’s definitely worthwhile researching the type of things available in your state or local area so you know what your options are
Careeronestop is one such resource. Sponsored through the U.S department of labor, it offers assistance to those looking for work as well as help for business start-ups. The range of services it provides includes advice and guideline for people in the job market regarding career choices, help for those looking to file for employment insurance (unemployment benefits), as well as information and advice regarding jobs, training, and other sources of possible assistance available in each of the various states
American Job Center’s are another resource for jobseekers in the US. There are over 2000 such job centers throughout the country. You can use these to search for jobs, file for unemployment insurance (benefits), and also access other resources and assistance relevant to your local state or region
The American Job Center network is responsible for organising and coordinating more than 2000 American job center’s that operate across the country. As well as providing basic job searching functions, these center’s also provide free help and advice to businesses and job seekers for a variety of employment and career-orientated needs. Not only do they help businesses find qualified workers, they also help job seekers find employment, training, and other forms of assistance that may be available in their local area, like obscure grants or scholarships. People who are unemployed can also go here to check their eligibility status and file for unemployment insurance

Here are a few other sources where you might find assistance:
Dislocated Worker Program
If you’re out of work as part of a mass layoff, you may qualify for training services through the Dislocated Worker program. This is possible due to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), although the level of assistance may vary state by state
Trade Adjustment Act
You may qualify for assistance through the Trade Adjustment Act if you’ve lost your job or had your hours reduced because of increased imports
Financial Aid
This is money available in the form of grants and loans from a variety of educational, federal, private, and non-profit organisations
Pell Grants
Federal Pell Grants are awarded by the U.S. Department of Education. Check with the U.S. Department of Education’s Student Financial Aid Office to find out if you’re eligible for one
Colleges and Universities
These institutions offer grants to students based on specific types of criteria. Check with the financial aid office of your local educational establishment to see if you’re eligible
